Brooke Hill - Clinic director/Founder & Registered Psychotherapist

“I founded Hill Mental Health with a principled commitment to provide the best care for youth and families as they navigate educational, professional, and personal journeys. We specifically value and understand the importance of providing care in multiple languages and to diverse backgrounds and are committed to our patients success. I am a true education enthusiast, strongly believing that mental health is an ongoing learning process and its awareness is necessary to battle stigma.

My professional focus began with children and youth with learning and psychological challenges in learning contexts, such as ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Weak Executive Function, Anxiety & Stress. I have seen how supporting youth through their educational journey can set them up for success in life. I have also supported families through conflict and change.

My professional experience includes counselling for years in international hospital and educational settings as well as in clinics in Canada supporting individuals of all ages who are battling anxiety, depression, phobias, OCD, personality disorders, and more.  Along the way, I have learned the value of counselling to multilingual and diverse backgrounds with a focus on clients from South America, the US, and Canada (in both English and Spanish).

Taking the first step to improve your mental health can be difficult. Book a free 15-minute consultation call and let us help you reach your full potential and mental health.

"I deeply respect the courage and vulnerability it takes for you to seek out professional help through counselling. It would be my honour to support you on your therapeutic journey. My integrative, and culturally sensitive, approach to counselling, can be adapted to align with your individualized goals and beliefs. The counselling modality used in our sessions, is client-dependent, meaning, I will incorporate wide-ranging interventions which are modified to fit your specific needs. I value establishing a strong and secure therapeutic relationship with my clients, in a non-judgmental, genuine, and safe space.

I am passionate about ensuring clients feel heard, validated, and supported through warmth and positivity. I want to assist you in strengthening your understanding of yourself, developing patterns of behaviour which serve you, and helping you to achieve more fulfillment and harmony in your life. I hope we can facilitate positive change by applying innovative evidence-based techniques and interventions in conjunction with your insights and direction.

I recognize that pain, hardships, and challenging life circumstances can be overwhelming. Therefore, I am determined to provide any type of client (individuals of all ages, presenting with any kind of problem, from varying backgrounds), with an avenue to navigate these experiences meaningfully and constructively."

Howie Bender - External Advisor

Howie is an experienced strategist with a focus on successfully growing businesses in technology, partnering with educators in public systems, and a belief that good public policy fosters social and economic growth.

Prior to joining Hill Mental Health, He spent years growing the K12 business at D2L and close to a decade in government moving K-20 education systems forward. He was also the executive director of a non-profit, and provided policy advice to senior executives in the broader public sector.

He joins Hill Mental Health with a clear focus to help the clinic become a Canadian leader in mental health for youth and navigating their education. Canada’s education systems are among the best in the world but far too many students are falling through the cracks due to mental health challenges. Hill Mental Health partners with schools and districts to tailor a plan to their specific needs to ensure students are at their best.
